This page is part of a live demonstration. Payment terms below describe the policy IconsHerald intends to operate once a payment gateway is integrated; no live payment processing currently exists on this demonstration site. Draft wording — subject to tax and legal review before final commercial copy is set.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
1. Application Stage
Submitting an application does not create a payment obligation. No fee is charged at the application stage.
2. Upfront Payment (50% of Editorial Profile Creation Fee + GST)
This payment is due after your application is approved and you have completed the relevant editorial questionnaire, and before editorial preparation of your Profile begins.
Early-period customer-initiated cancellation (founding period). During IconsHerald's early period, if you choose to cancel after the upfront advance has been paid, the following applies uniformly across Emerging, Accomplished, and Distinguished packages (percentages of the upfront service fee excluding GST; the GST component of any INR payment is non-refundable; USD/international charges have no GST):
- Before a draft exists — refund of 75% of the upfront advance paid (service-fee base).
- After a draft exists but before you approve — refund of 50% of the upfront advance paid (service-fee base).
- After your approval, or after publication — no refund of the upfront advance. Technical or service issues after publication are handled separately and are not treated as a refund of the creation fee. Force majeure events are excluded from any refund obligation.
This early-period customer-choice schedule is a limited-time founding policy. IconsHerald may withdraw or replace it once the early period ends; the Refund & Cancellation page will be updated accordingly. It does not affect the separate IconsHerald-fault rules below.
3. Verified Fault on IconsHerald's Part
Separately from customer-initiated cancellation: where there is a verified fault on IconsHerald's part (such as failure to deliver within a communicated timeline, or a factual error in your drafted profile not sourced from your own responses), you are entitled to a refund of 75% of the upfront service fee (excluding GST). The GST component of any payment is non-refundable. The remaining 25% of the service fee is retained as a non-refundable processing fee.
4. Balance Payment (Remaining 50% + GST)
This is due after you have reviewed and approved your completed Profile, and before publication. If you decline to approve the Profile after a reasonable opportunity for revision, and the parties cannot reach agreement on the Profile's content, IconsHerald may treat the engagement as concluded under the early-period customer-choice schedule above (or under the then-current customer-cancellation policy if the early period has ended); the balance payment will not be charged, and the Profile will not be published.
5. Revisions Before Approval
You are entitled to a reasonable number of revision rounds before final approval is required, as specified for your package. Additional revision rounds beyond this may attract an additional fee, communicated to you in advance.
6. Cancellation by IconsHerald
If IconsHerald is unable to complete your Profile for reasons within its control, you are entitled to a full refund of any amount paid for which corresponding work has not been delivered, subject to the IconsHerald-fault rules in section 3 where they apply.
7. In Memoriam and Bespoke Engagements
Because In Memoriam engagements are individually commissioned by a family, foundation, or institution, refund terms for an In Memoriam Editorial Memorial Archive, and for any other bespoke engagement, will be set out in the specific quotation or agreement provided to the commissioning party before payment, and that document will govern in case of any conflict with this general policy.
8. Annual Profile Maintenance & Verification Renewal
Annual Profile Maintenance & Verification fees are billed in advance. The specific renewal refund policy will be published here before commercial launch.
