Dr. Ananya Rajan joined the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at NIT Calicut as Assistant Professor in 2020, following the completion of her PhD at IIT Madras where her thesis on deep learning approaches to radar signal classification was awarded the Best PhD Thesis prize by the department.

In four years she has established an active research group, published seven papers in indexed journals, secured a SERB Early Career Research grant as principal investigator, and guided eight postgraduate students. She is an active reviewer for IEEE Signal Processing Letters.
