In 2018, Adv. Fathima Beevi Nasser argued a housing rights case on behalf of plantation workers that most senior counsel would have quietly declined — the clients could not pay standard fees, and the opposing side had considerably deeper pockets. The Division Bench order she won was later cited by the National Human Rights Commission in a matter far larger than the one she'd actually argued. It is the kind of case that built her reputation more than any retainer could have.

Her public interest litigation record — ten matters, eight resulting in significant orders, spanning environmental protection, housing rights, and access to legal aid — sits alongside a working practice of over 2,800 cases and five appeals carried to the Supreme Court. In 2021, she argued successfully before that Court on Article 21 and environmental rights; in 2019, she represented a workers' union of eight hundred plantation employees to a full settlement.
Her principal domain is constitutional and labour law — a combination reflected in the LLM in Constitutional Law she completed at Kerala Law Academy, following an LLB at Government Law College Ernakulam where she took the university gold medal. Eleven junior advocates have trained in her chambers since her 2013 designation as Senior Advocate, several now running PIL practices of their own.
